The deep-green double-velvet drawstring pouch, our ZB6, is a quiet seller. Nothing flashy: thick double-layer plush, a silver-grey foil logo, a drawstring that pulls shut and looks the part. But on a basic style like this, the small moves decide whether the client comes back. First, the 'double velvet.' Plush velvet is not the same as pile velvet. Pile stands up and feels fuzzy; plush is pressed flat, denser to the hand and smarter to the eye. Double means a layer of velvet front and back with no sponge between, so the thickness comes from the cloth itself. That makes it thicker than a single layer yet lighter than a foam-padded pouch, just right for a ring or pendant without ballooning into a ball. The deep green is the risky bit: dye lots drift, so we lock one vat number and sample every batch, otherwise this month runs dark and next month pale and the client thinks we shipped the wrong order. The foil is the pouch's face. A silver-grey logo on deep green lives or dies on temperature and pressure, not on force. Too cold and the foil film will not bond — a thumb rubs it off in days. Too hot and the velvet scorches, leaving a yellow ring. We hold the press in the narrow window where the film transfers without burning the nap, and keep the pressure even so the corners of each letter stay sharp. Fine-stroke lettering needs the slow pass; rush it and you get broken lines. The drawstring is wide webbing, knotted and fixed at both ends. People skip this step and the cord frays, which makes the whole bag look thrown together. We thread, knot each end, and dab a clear fixative so it survives dozens of openings. Once drawn, the flocked inner liner wraps the jewelry, keeping dust and scratches out. Each piece ships in its own OPP dust bag, then a five-layer carton. The 80x80x35mm size starts at a thousand units, two thousand and up for volume, and the dimensions can be changed to the client's spec. Why double velvet instead of a single thick cloth? A single heavy cloth curls at the mouth when drawn tight and never quite recovers; two lighter layers bonded flat keep the mouth crisp and the body soft. It is the difference between a pouch that looks ironed and one that looks slept in. Clients sometimes ask to drop the inner flocked liner to save cost. We talk them out of it. Without that liner the jewelry rides directly against the outer velvet and picks up fibres; on a dark stone you see them at once. The liner is the cheapest insurance on the whole bag. Colour matching the cord to the body is another quiet win. A same-green cord disappears and looks cheap; a contrasting tone, even a slightly lighter green, reads as intentional. We usually suggest a cord one shade off the body so the draw reads as a design line, not an afterthought. We take a lot of branded custom runs on this green pouch. Clients pick deep green mostly to sit behind gold or jade — green grounds gold without fighting the stone's colour. Some ask for pale green or burgundy and we match the same vat to their swatch. The failures cluster at foil: once a client's logo had hairline strokes, the temperature was not held, and two tenths of the first run came out broken, the whole batch reworked. We now hard-rule it — fine type gets a proof for adhesion before any volume. Against a single-layer pouch, the double velvet stays crisp, will not curl at the mouth, and stands up on the counter once drawn. Minimum a thousand, two thousand and up for volume, dimensions adjustable — which is exactly why it outsells the market stuff by a few yuan.
